Amey is offering a 12-month Placement Student in the Transport Infrastructure Business Unit, based in Birmingham. You will support the Rail Sector Business Development team, gaining experience across market intelligence, stakeholder management, and internal communications strategies.

Salary is £24,920.81 per annum, with a 9-5, 37.5-hour week and September 2027 start. You'll build a pipeline, attend industry events, and may lead communications initiatives while learning through a structured

• Currently studying for a degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new business opportunities and trends.
• Business Development Support: Assist in the creation of sales presentations and proposals. Support the sales team in client meetings and follow-ups.
• Data Analysis: Analyse customer data and sales metrics to assess business performance and suggest improvements.
• Networking: Be an ambassador for Amey, attend industry events and networking meetings to establish contacts and represent the company.
• Project Management: Assist in managing and coordinating projects from conception to completion.
• Reporting: Prepare reports on business development activities.

Title: Placement Student

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Industry Placement Student to join Amey’s Transport Infrastructure Business Unit, based in Birmingham.

Salary: £24,920.81per annum (Subject to review)

Location: 20, The Colmore Building, Colmore Circus, Queensway, Birmingham, B4 6AT

Working hours per week: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 37.5 hours per week.

Start date: September 2027

About The Team

Join our supportive and inclusive Business Development community, working on diverse projects that make a positive impact across the UK.

Within the Rail Sector Business Development team, you will gain experience across a wide range of activities.

No two days will be the same. The team works across market intelligence, customer and stakeholder management, and internal capability to build a pipeline that serves Amey and its customers.

You will support Amey at industry conferences and networking events, helping to build capability, knowledge and professional relationships.

You will support, and may lead, the development and rollout of internal and external communications strategies. With multiple projects running at the same time, prioritisation and versatility will be important skills to develop.

What You Will Do
