Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley offers a 12-month placement across both design and construction teams, providing broad exposure to live projects within the Welsh Water framework. Travel around their region is required as part of the placement.

You will work with mechanical engineers on-site and in the office, gaining hands-on experience in water and wastewater projects, from design through installation and maintenance, while developing design and analysis skills for a future in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• You must be studying a full-time undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced mechanical engineers on-site and in the office to gain practical experience in mechanical systems and project delivery.

About The Role

Our placements last for 12 months, working across both design and construction teams, to offer the broadest exposure to the industry, working on real-world projects that make a difference in communities. It’s a great chance to get involved with live projects while gaining experience relevant to your degree. This role is based within our Welsh Water framework, so travel around their region is required.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with experienced mechanical engineers both on-site and in the office, gaining practical experience in mechanical systems and project implementation.
• Engage in a variety of water and waste water projects, from design and planning to installation and maintenance, ensuring systems operate efficiently and effectively.
• Enhance your skills in mechanical design, system analysis, and problem-solving, preparing you for a successful career in mechanical engineering.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment on all projects.
