Job description

Are you passionate about empowering students to succeed in their careers?

We're seeking a Placement Engagement Co-ordinator to join our team. In this role, you'll inspire students to get experience while they study, develop and deliver innovative skills development sessions, and collaborate with Careers and Employability Service (CES) colleagues to enhance student success.

About Our Team

Placements and Internships give students the opportunity to gain skills specific to their subject or industry of choice as well as the employability skills required for real-life work.

It also increases their knowledge of an industry or sector, allowing them to make better-informed decisions about future career choices.

The Careers and Employability Service puts students at the centre of an agile, impactful service. Our Placement Engagement Coordinators play a key role in inspiring students to engage with and succeed in securing experiential learning opportunities that build confidence, skills, and employability. We work across disciplines, focusing on students' development needs, and deliver innovative, digital-first and in-person preparation programmes.

About The Role

With one of the UK's largest and most diverse student populations, we use data-informed, scalable and inclusive approaches to engage students across disciplines, ensuring our support has the greatest possible impact, particularly for those who may face additional barriers to accessing opportunities.

As a Placement Engagement Coordinator, you'll support large and diverse student populations to engage with placements, internships and other work-based learning opportunities. You'll create impact at scale through the design and delivery of workshops, campaigns, digital resources and events that meet students where they are developmentally.

Using student engagement data and insight, you'll identify priority cohorts and tailor interventions to different levels of confidence, readiness and motivation. You'll use evidence to inform decisions, target support effectively, and evaluate the impact of activities.

You'll work closely with colleagues and employer partners to create inclusive, high-quality opportunities and help students build confidence and skills through experiential learning – from placements and internships to volunteering and Rise projects.

You will work from campus, flexibly for at least three days per week.

For further information please find the Job Description attached below.

You'll have excellent communication skills and be confident engaging large and diverse student audiences through workshops, events, campaigns and digital content. You'll enjoy using data and insight to identify student needs, target interventions and evaluate impact. While you will occasionally provide individual support where appropriate, you'll be motivated by creating scalable solutions that benefit large numbers of students.

You'll be confident using digital tools, adaptable to changing priorities, and passionate about helping students succeed. Strong networking and collaboration skills are essential to work effectively with colleagues and employer partners.

The Successful Applicant Will Have
