Job summary

Franco Manca Waterloo is seeking a Pizza Second Chef to support the Head Chef and help keep the kitchen buzzing with high-quality pizzas in our fast-paced pizzeria.

You’ll handle prep, quality control and hygiene, train junior cooks, stay calm under pressure and lead the team when the Head Chef isn’t present. The role offers great staff perks and development opportunities within Franco Manca.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen and handling high-volume service.
• Strong understanding of food prep, hygiene and service.
• Ability to stay organized and focused during busy shifts.
• Willingness to train and support junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and maintain the heart of the pizzeria.
• Ensure consistently amazing food and pizza quality.
• Lead the team when Head Chef is unavailable and stay calm under pressure.
• Hands-on role from dough stretching to pizza creation.
• Uphold hygiene and safety standards across kitchen operations.
