Job summary

Mactech Inspection Ltd is seeking a Piping Engineering Completion Lead to deliver on-site completion activities at Hinkley Point C, Somerset. Lead a team of engineers to complete piping tests, flushing, drying and preservation, moving towards Commissioning handover.

The role requires proven leadership, rigorous engineering practice, and ability to coordinate multiple interfaces to ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence in a complex nuclear project.

Responsibilities

• Pilot the Installation Contractors to ensure the pressure test and subsequent activities are prepared and executed in accordance with nuclear safety and quality standards.
• Put in place the strategy for the preparation and the execution of the on-site pressure test activities of HPC pipework: Circa 1500 pressure test loops per unit
• Pilot the Installation Contractors to prepare the documentation related to pressure test and subsequent activities (flushing, drying, preservation) up to hand over to Commissioning
• Coordinate interfaces between Installation Contractors pressure test team, construction team, Contracts Project Managers, upstream Engineering teams, Building leads and Commissioning team
• Support the resolution of technical topics related to pressure test and subsequent activities (temporary components, demineralized water, effluent, exemption requests)
• Organise the surveillance with reviewers on pressure test documentation including loop definition and procedures and perform reviews
• Lead the development of a digital tool which will support the pressure test loop definition
• Define strategies for completion and hand over to Commissioning (Life Time Quality Records, Open Point management)
• Support construction Project Managers in establishing KPIs and reporting site progress for construction activities
• Ensure integration of post-construction needs into the construction sequence for actions like Hydro pressure test loop definition and Commissioning Test Pack review and acceptance
• Coordinate all engineering activities to support construction sequence and improvements to processes and ways of working.
