Job summary
Intelect seeks an experienced Pipework Design Engineer to join the team and work on a client site in Darlington. You will produce high-quality pipework designs, develop layouts and 2D/3D drawings, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, cost-effective piping solutions from concept through installation.
The role requires a mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND or degree), experience in industrial piping design, and proficiency in AutoCAD or similar 3D CAD
Qualifications
- Experience in pipework or piping design in industrial or process environments.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and technical drawings.
- Strong communication and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed pipework designs for industrial projects.
- Develop piping layouts, isometrics, GA drawings and fabrication details.
- Ensure designs meet project specs, standards and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, project engineers and construction teams.
- Attend design reviews, client meetings and site walks to gather information.
- Support project delivery with technical guidance throughout execution.
- Review existing plant layouts and develop modification designs when required.
- Maintain documentation per company and client procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation of practices.
