Orion Electrotech Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding design office. You will work across diverse projects from concept to installation in process and industrial sectors including pharmaceuticals and metals.

The role emphasizes design, calculations, and interpretation of drawings and P&IDs, with a focus on practical engineering solutions and adherence to standards.

Competenze

• BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience with AutoCAD and AutoPlant; familiarity with Plant 3D, Nastran and Navisworks would be ideal.
• Experience in mechanical and piping design, plant layout, process plant design, and equipment skid design.

Mansioni

• Contribute to projects from concept and plant layout through to detailed design, calculations, fabrication and installation.
• Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications; apply engineering principles to practical design problems.

My client was founded in 1969 and provides professional engineering consultancy, design, project, and construction management services across a wide range of sectors, from Pharmaceuticals to Heavy Engineering – applying vision, purpose, and cutting-edge expertise.

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be joining an expanding Design Office and have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of engineering projects within the process and industrial sectors (pharmaceuticals, chemicals, metals, glass, energy and other process industries). The successful candidate will contribute to projects from initial concept and plant layout through to detailed design, engineering calculations, fabrication and installation.

What we would like from the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Experienced in using AutoCAD and AutoPlant but open to experience using Plant 3D, Nastran, and Navisworks
• Experience in mechanical design, piping design, plant layout, process plant design, equipment and machinery design, equipment skid design, stress analysis, FEA, mechanical engineering calculations, site surveying, and existing plant modelling
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, P&;IDs, and technical specifications
• Able to apply engineering principles to practical design problems
• Experience with standards such as ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), EN 13480 (Metallic Industrial Piping) would be desirable

What we offer the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Salary from £60,000 to £75,000 doe
• 25 days annual leave
• 38 ¾ weekly hours
• 3% employer pension contribution and 5% employee contribution
• Paid overtime
