Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International Group, seeks a Pipefitter Superintendent to lead safety and production on major UK nuclear projects. You will oversee work scopes, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure compliance with regulations while driving productivity on site at Hinkley Point C.

Ideal candidates bring proven pipefitting leadership on large construction programs, relevant NVQ/Diploma level 3, and CCNSG/IOSH/SMS safety credentials.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipefitter Superintendent on engineering projects.
• Nuclear power experience is highly preferred.
• Experience delivering major construction projects with safety focus.
• Valid Skills Card and Pipefitting accreditation (NVQ/Diploma Level 3) as required.
• CCNSG Safety Passport is mandatory, SMSTS or IOSH also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead on safety and production, championing nuclear safety culture.
• Oversee delivery of work scopes and identify productivity improvements.
• Schedule, track progress, and issue daily reports to stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal/external parties and attend progress meetings.
• Coordinate trainees and apprentices' experience and training.
• Manage and co-ordinate subcontractors.

Job description

Play a pivotal role in building the UK's clean energy future. Work within the MEH Alliance, collaborating effectively to deliver complex piping and cabling systems. Lead on Safety and Production: Champion nuclear safety culture while maximising team productivity. Oversee efficient delivery of work scopes, identifying improvement opportunities. Maintain adherence to regulations, agreements, and procedures. Manage Project Progress: Schedule, track progress, and issue daily reports to relevant stakeholders. Liaise with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal and external parties (HPC representatives, Client etc.), attend progress meetings as required. Ensure trainees and apprentices receive appropriate and varied experience and training within the confines of the work allocated. Manage and co-coordinate sub-contractors.

• Proven experience as a Pipefitter Superintendent within an engineering project.
• Proven track record in nuclear power preferred.
• Experience working on major construction projects.
• Relevant Skills Card (where required), Relevant Pipefitting Professional Accreditation (NVQ or Diploma Level 3 minimum in Relevant Discipline)
• Must have a CCNSG Safety Passport.
• SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
