Job summary

A leading engineering resource company is seeking an experienced Pipefitter for a 6-month industrial project in Plymouth. The role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of stainless and carbon steel pipework. Key responsibilities include reading technical drawings, performing pressure tests, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have proven experience in similar environments and possess relevant qualifications such as CSCS. Attractive hourly rate of £24.00 and daily accommodation allowance offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a pipefitter in an industrial or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of stainless and carbon steel pipework.
• Ability to work from detailed technical drawings.
• Understanding of pressure testing and pipe system integrity checks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication sketches.
• Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipe using hand and power tools.
• Install and secure pipe systems, supports, valves, and fittings.
• Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests to ensure system integrity.

Skills

Pipefitting experience

Knowledge of stainless and carbon steel pipework

Ability to read technical drawings

Proficiency with pipefitting tools

Understanding of pressure testing

Education

CSCS or equivalent

NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting or equivalent
