Job summary

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting an experienced Pipefitter for a permanent position based with our client in Scunthorpe. This workshop-based role includes some site work and an immediate start subject to interview.

You will read drawings and install piping systems to exacting standards, in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with stainless and mild steel pipework, be able to measure, cut and install piping safely, and hold NVQ

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pipefitter in industrial/heavy engineering environments.
• Experience on 1" upwards stainless and mild steel pipework.
• Ability to read engineering and isometric drawings.
• Experience measuring, cutting, preparing and installing pipework.
• Good knowledge of pipe fittings, flanges, valves and associated equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• Must have an in date CCNSG (Safety Passport) and NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting.

Responsibilities

• Installing, assembling and fitting pipework systems from drawings.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, isometric drawings and pipe layouts.
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, preparing and aligning pipes for installation.
• Working with a range of pipe materials, fittings, flanges, valves and components.
• Carrying out pipework modifications, repairs and maintenance as required.
• Ensuring pipework is correctly positioned, secured and installed to specifications.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
• Following site procedures, risk assessments and method statements at all times.
• Keeping tools and work areas clean, organised and safe.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Pipefitter for a permanent position based with our client in Scunthorpe.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Rate of pay is £22.00 to £25.00 per hour (depending on experience)

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Pipefitter with experience in industrial environments to join an established team, carrying out pipework installation, fabrication and maintenance work to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be confident working from engineering drawings, measuring and preparing pipework, and installing piping systems safely and efficiently.

This position will be workshop based with some site work.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing, assembling and fitting pipework systems in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, isometric drawings and pipework layouts.
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, preparing and aligning pipes for installation.
• Working with a range of pipe materials, fittings, flanges, valves and associated components.
• Carrying out pipework modifications, repairs and maintenance as required.

• Working alongside other trades and site personnel to ensure work is completed efficiently.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Pipefitter, preferably within an industrial or heavy engineering environment.
• Experience working on 1" upwards stainless and mild steel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and isometric drawings.
• Experience measuring, cutting, preparing and installing pipework.
• Good knowledge of pipe fittings, flanges, valves and associated equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to use initiative when completing tasks.
• NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting would be expected.
• Must have an in date CCNSG (Safety Passport)
