Job summary

This permanent, full-time role is for a Pipe Fitter / Welder based in Hertfordshire/Essex border area. The position pays £22.00–£27.00 per hour, with 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for fabrication, fitting and welding of stainless-steel pipework and related assemblies, working from drawings and ensuring quality. Experience in pipe fitting and TIG welding is required or desirable, with readiness to support on-site installation when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in pipe fitting and/or TIG welding.
• Experience welding stainless steel.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings.
• Competent with hand and powered tools.
• TIG welding certification desirable but not essential.
• Reliable and team-focused.

Responsibilities

• Weld stainless-steel pipework and assemblies.
• Fit, fabricate and assemble pipe systems.
• Work from fabrication and process drawings.
• Fabricate stainless-steel frameworks and brackets.
• Cut, grind and drill stainless-steel components.
• Complete weld logs and quality documentation.
• Assemble pipework, valves, pumps and related components.
• Support onsite installation and maintenance when required.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Pipe Fitter / Welder to join an established engineering business on a permanent basis.

The Role

You will be responsible for the fabrication, fitting and welding of stainless-steel pipework and associated assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Stainless-steel manual and orbital TIG welding
• Pipe fitting, fabrication and assembly
• Working from fabrication and process drawings
• Fabricating stainless-steel frameworks and brackets
• Cutting, grinding and drilling stainless-steel components
• Completing weld logs and quality documentation
• Assembly of pipework, valves, pumps and associated components
• Supporting onsite installation and maintenance when required
• Working safely and maintaining high-quality standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in pipe fitting and/or TIG welding
• Stainless-steel welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical/fabrication drawings
• Competent with hand and powered tools
• TIG welding certification is desirable but not essential
• Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team
