Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment are seeking an experienced Pipefitter for a long-term site-based project in Plympton, near Plymouth. The role is offered on a CIS/self-employed basis with a 42.5-hour week and a rate of £28–£30 per hour.

You will work from drawings and site instructions, installing and maintaining diverse pipework systems and mechanical components. Applicants should have proven pipefitting experience, CSCS and industry qualifications, and live within a commutable distance of

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipefitter in industrial engineering environments.
• Experience with steel, plastic and compressed air pipework.
• Experience installing valves, flanges and fittings.
• Experience piping for industrial sectors (mining, food & beverage, petrochemical) is advantageous.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and pipework layouts.

Responsibilities

• Measuring, cutting, preparing and assembling pipework.
• Modifying, altering and rerouting pipework as required.
• Installing steel, plastic and compressed air systems.
• Carrying out repairs and replacements on pipework.
• General mechanical installation and equipment fitting.
• Installing valves, fittings and related components.
• Working from drawings and site instructions.
• Ensuring workmanship complies with site health and safety procedures.
• Supporting other mechanical installation activities.

Position: Pipefitter
Location: Plympton, PL7
Rate: £28.00 - £30.00

My client is a well-established engineering contractor specialising in mechanical engineering and industrial pipework installations. They are looking to recruit an experienced Pipefitter to join their team for a long-term site-based project in Plympton on a CIS, Self employed basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial pipefitting, with experience installing, modifying, repairing and maintaining a range of industrial pipework and mechanical systems.

Pipefitter Position Overview

• Measuring, cutting, preparing and assembling pipework
• Pipework modifications, alterations and rerouting
• Installation of steel, plastic and compressed air pipework systems
• Carrying out pipework repairs and replacements
• General mechanical fitting and equipment installation
• Installing valves, fittings, flanges and associated mechanical components
• Working from engineering drawings, layouts and site instructions
• Identifying and resolving issues with existing pipework systems
• Supporting general mechanical installation and maintenance activities
• Working safely in accordance with site-specific health & safety procedures

Pipefitter Position Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Pipefitter within an industrial or mechanical engineering environment
• Experience working with steel, plastic and compressed air pipework
• Experience installing valves, flanges, fittings and mechanical components
• Experience Pipfitting for industrial applications (Mining, Food and Beverage, Petrochemical etc...) would be highly advantageous
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, pipework layouts and installation instructions
• Good understanding of industrial mechanical systems and pipework installation practices
• CSCS card required
• Additional relevant site qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA or CCNSG would be advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence advantageous
• Based within a commutable distance of Plympton, PL7

Pipefitter Position Remuneration

• Rate: £28.00 - £30.00
• Monday to Friday - 08:00 - 17:00 - 42.5 hours a week
