Job summary

MTrec Technical is recruiting a Pipe Fitter for on-site installation and fabrication work in the North East of England. You will read engineering drawings, fabricate pipework, weld/braze/solder as required, and support boiler checks while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation on new and existing plant
• Install and, when required, design pipework for utilities
• Fabricate components, jigs and fixtures as needed
• Weld, braze and solder to complete work
• Carry out boiler daily and weekly checks
• Liaise with planning to avoid production disruption
• Ensure adherence to health & safety requirements
• Maintain a safe working environment at all times

Job description

The Company

Our client is a specialist manufacturing company. Due to growth, they are now looking to recruit a Pipe Fitter.

The Role

• To help with the installation of engineering solutions on new and existing plant.
• To install and when required, design pipework for utilities.
• To fabricate where necessary, components, jigs and fixtures.
• To monitor and record boiler installations, carrying out daily and weekly tests where applicable.
• Install pipework and valves.
• Order where required, materials and components for installation works.
• Carry out boiler daily and weekly checks
• Liaise with production and planning department when engineering activities may interrupt production schedule.
• Help installation contractors when applicable.
• Fabricate where required jigs, fixtures and assemblies.
• Weld, braze and solder where required, to complete work.
• Lagging installation where required.
• Use of MEWP equipment when required
• Engineering stores stock check
• Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with current H&S, environmental and food safety legislation and procedures.
• Use all PPE and equipment as instructed.
• Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
• Report any serious malfunctions or risks to a responsible person.

• Must be time served.
• Proven experience in pipe fitting and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good housekeeping.
• Proven ability to work accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
