Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking an Investigative Officer in Lancashire for a long-term, part-time contract (24–30 hours per week). The role requires PIP2 accreditation and experience handling serious investigations, with duties across interviews, evidence gathering, and reporting.

The post involves liaison with CPS, court/hearings, and working within policing procedures. A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel may be required.

Qualifications

• PIP2 accreditation is essential.
• Experience conducting serious and complex investigations.
• Strong knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and legal procedures (PACE, CPIA).
• Proven experience interviewing victims, witnesses and suspects, and gathering evidence.
• Proficient with police IT systems/databases and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide an investigative response to incidents and received intelligence.
• Secure, preserve, and gather evidence to prove/disprove information and establish facts.
• Conduct criminal and/or misconduct interviews with victims, witnesses and suspects.
• Manage workload and progress enquiries as officer-in-case where required.
• Compile investigation reports and complete case files to required standards and timescales.
• Present evidence as required (e.g., to CPS and in court/hearings).
• Liaise with the public by phone, in person, and in writing; take complaint details and provide updates.
• Research, record and maintain accurate investigation records using internal IT systems.
