Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge to PIP Level 1 with potential to reach PIP Level 2.
• Analytical mind with methodical approach and attention to detail.
• Ability to interview victims, witnesses and suspects effectively.
• Knowledge of best evidence rules including interviewing of witnesses and suspects.
• Understanding of criminal procedure: PACE and CPIA.
• Foundations of courts and the wider criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Investigate serious and complex crimes as part of a team.
• Deal with victims, offenders and witnesses, providing support and information.
• Prepare case files with evidence gathering and documentation.
• Collaborate with other agencies and partners to achieve justice.
• Progress from PIP1 towards PIP2 within the role.
