Job summary

Nottinghamshire Police is seeking a Police Staff Investigator (PIP 2) to join a newly established team tackling Group Based Child Sexual Exploitation. The role reports to the CARE Detective Sergeant and involves leading serious investigations and coordinating evidence management.

Applicants must be PIP2 accredited or working towards accreditation. The post requires UK residency and willingness to travel; base is Oxclose Lane Police Station with weekend/afternoon shifts.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be PIP2 accredited or working towards accreditation.
• This role involves investigating serious and complex crimes relating to Child Exploitation.
• The post requires travel nationally and to base from Oxclose Lane Police Station.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of serious and complex investigations and develop investigation plans.
• Interview suspects in accordance with PACE Code C and E and related powers.
• Manage exhibits including storage and submission for forensic examination.
• Create disclosure schedules in line with CPIA obligations and liaise with CPS/barristers.
• Gather, develop and use intelligence using force IT systems to inform risks and safeguarding concerns.
• Pursue all identified lines of enquiry fairly and ensure material for case files.
