Job summary

Capita HAAS is seeking a Functional Specialist - PIP (Welsh Speaking) to deliver comprehensive assessments for the DWP. You will work from home with rota-based travel to regional assessment centres, producing detailed reports that inform eligibility decisions. The role emphasizes clinical judgment and patient empathy.

The position requires nursing or allied health registration, Welsh language skills are desirable, and a competitive package with benefits is on offer.

Qualifications

• One year post-registration experience in nursing or allied health.
• Excellent observational and communication skills.
• Ability to produce timely reports and meet targets.
• Competence with IT and Microsoft Office; ability to access systems remotely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial reviews (paper-based, face-to-face, video or telephone).
• Observe and report on an individual’s ability to perform activities.
• Analyse and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence.
• Create a comprehensive 3,000–4,000-word report per claimant (up to 3/day).
• Ensure detail and justification to support DWP decisions.
• Develop clinical knowledge to cover less familiar health conditions.
• Hybrid role: report from home with rota-based centre visits.
