Job summary

Capita Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is seeking a Nurse Assessor/Functional Specialist in Wales, offering a hybrid working environment and flexible hours. This role focuses on utilizing your clinical expertise to assess and report on benefits claimants, ensuring fair and informed decisions for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The position includes extensive training, a competitive salary starting at £39,500, and benefits such as life assurance, pension scheme, and generous holiday allowances.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year’s post‑registration experience.
• Comfortable working quickly to meet structured targets.
• A driving licence or access to transport for assessment centre working.

Responsibilities

• Conducting assessments to evaluate how conditions impact daily living.
• Producing detailed written reports (3,000–4,000 words).
• Carrying out structured assessments to understand a person’s health condition.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to produce clear, accurate and detailed reports

Good IT skills

Excellent observational skills

Education

NMC registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD)
