Job summary

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets is seeking a PI Underwriter based in Manchester (Birmingham also considered) to drive profitable, balanced growth for the Financial Lines portfolio and to provide underwriting expertise to a skilled team.

You will manage allocated intermediaries and multinational accounts, assess risk, and present insights while maintaining exceptional customer service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High level underwriting knowledge and ability to apply strategy.
• Proven ability to trade, negotiate, and influence underwriting outcomes.
• Strong external networking with intermediaries and customers.
• Build long-term broker and client partnerships in the local market.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and convert new and existing PI business opportunities end-to-end.
• Define pricing input and guide broker strategies to win business.
• Manage high-level multinational accounts and on-site decisions.
• Collaborate with underwriting teams to balance risk and growth.
• Present technical insights when required and maintain documentation.
