Qualifications

• Experience in professional indemnity or financial lines underwriting and/or broking.
• Excellent local market knowledge and a strong professional reputation within the PI market.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex risk information, financial data, and statistical analysis.
• Sound decision-making ability, particularly to make underwriting decisions under pressure.
• Commercial awareness and a financial mindset, balancing risk and reward.
• Adaptability to changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
• Relationship-building skills with brokers, clients, and colleagues.
• Awareness of claims trends and regulatory developments relevant to professional liability.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of professional indemnity risks, applying sound underwriting practices to assess, evaluate, and price new business, renewals, endorsements, and adjustments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers/clients to generate submission flow, secure new business opportunities, and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
• Offer best in class service to brokers/clients, producing timely quotes and managing the end-to-end renewal process. Make decisions on whether to accept, decline, or refer risks, exercising underwriting authority within defined limits and documenting rationale.
• Anticipate market trends and track underwriting issues, legal developments, and emerging risks affecting professional indemnity lines.
• Assist with PI portfolio management with focus on strategic, profitable growth.
• Promote the company brand within the market.
