Job summary

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets invites a PI Underwriter to join our Birmingham or Manchester team on a full-time basis, reporting to the Head of Financial Lines Underwriting.

You will develop and manage a profitable, balanced portfolio with intermediaries and customers, providing technical underwriting guidance and leading end-to-end case handling to support long-term trading objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven underwriting expertise and a strong trading mindset.
• Ability to manage complex multinational accounts and relationships.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with intermediaries.
• In-depth knowledge of the local UK market and pricing insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and convert new and existing business with allocated intermediaries and customers.
• Close opportunities to deliver profitable growth aligned with trading strategy.
• Provide technical underwriting guidance to less experienced staff.
• Influence broker behaviour with clear appetite, pricing insight and feedback.
• Maintain high-quality portfolios and deliver strong customer service.
