Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant for the Integrated Discharge Team at Eastbourne District General Hospital. You will support physiotherapy assessments and rehabilitation, deliver exercise plans, and help with discharge planning in a multidisciplinary setting.

You will engage in in-service training and supervision with your line manager, work closely with the IDT and MDT, and benefit from NHS pension, staff development, and onsite facilities.

Qualifications

• Assisting with data input and equipment ordering to support timely discharge.
• Ability to work with Physiotherapists to deliver assessment and rehabilitative sessions.

Responsibilities

• Support physiotherapy assessments and rehabilitation for patients across acute and IDT settings.
• Deliver exercise programmes and maintenance plans under supervision of physiotherapists.
• Order equipment and input data using the Millbrook system to aid patient discharge.
• Collaborate with IDT Occupational Therapy and MDT to optimise patient flow.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Assistant to work within our Integrated Discharge Team (IDT) at Eastbourne District General Hospital. As part of the Physiotherapy department, you will be joining a big supportive team passionate about caring for the residents of East Sussex. You will have the opportunity to attend an in-service training programme and complete supervision sessions with your line manager. You will also work closely alongside the IDT Occupational Therapy team and the wider multi disciplinary team, including our newly appointed Advanced Practitioner to the team.

As part of this role you will work with a team of Physiotherapists providing a high level of assessment and rehabilitation to the patients of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust; including Frailty, General medicine and palliative care.

You will be required to work alongside the Physiotherapists and also autonomously carrying out exercise programmes, maintenance programmes and rehabilitation sessions planned by a Physiotherapist.

You will be responsible for completing data inputting and assisting with the ordering of equipment through the Millbrook system to ensure timely discharge for patient’s across the trust.
