Qualifications

• Chartered Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, or Sports Rehabilitator with BSc or MSc in the field.
• Registration with HCPC/BASRaT/SST is required.
• Must maintain EMFAif qualification and medical insurance for treating athletes.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency first aid and assess injured players.
• Maintain detailed injury and treatment records and communicate with the coaching team.
• Support junior therapists and comply with health and safety policies.

Job Description:

AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a hard-working, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual to join the Medical department as a Chartered Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, or Sports Rehabilitator. The role involves working within a Tier 3 women’s football club, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation for all women’s players, including the 1st team and pathway players.

The successful candidate will work flexible hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. Opportunities for internal CPD and staying current with literature and scope of practice are provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
• Assess injured players clinically before games
• Maintain detailed injury and treatment records
• Communicate with coaches, S&C team, and players about injuries and availability
• Participate in in-house CPD sessions
• Support junior therapists' development within the pathway
• Ensure compliance with club policies on health, safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
• Hold BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
• Register with HCPC/BASRaT/SST
• Maintain in-date EMFAif qualification and commit to annual reaccreditation
• Work with high-level athletes on injury management and rehab planning
• Have suitable medical insurance for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
• Ability to participate in football at a high level
• Possess MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
