Job Description:

AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual interested in women’s football at Tier 3, working with elite female footballers.

We seek Chartered Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists, or Sports Rehabilitators to join our Medical department. The Medical Therapist plays a vital role in the club’s long-term vision.

The successful candidate will work within a Tier 3 women’s football club, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation for all women’s players from the 1st team and occasionally with pathway players.

Applicants must be flexible with working hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. This role offers opportunities for internal CPD, staying current with literature, and developing practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
• Clinically assess injured players before games
• Maintain detailed injury and treatment records, upload to our platform
• Communicate regularly with coaches, S&C team, and players regarding injuries and availability
• Participate in in-house CPD sessions
• Support the development of junior therapists within the women’s pathway
• Ensure compliance with club policies on health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
• Hold a BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
• Register with HCPC/BASRaT/SST
• Maintain in-date EMFAif qualification and commit to yearly reaccreditation
• Willingness to work with high-level athletes, managing injuries and rehabilitation plans
• Have suitable medical insurance for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
• Ability to participate in football at a high level
• Possess an MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
