Join to apply for the Physiotherapist / Specialist Physiotherapist - Band 5 or 6 role at NHS Scotland

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our Intermediate Care Team based in Glenrothes Hospital as part of the Integrated Community Assessment and Support Service (ICASS).

You will require to have NHS experience of working with adults, mainly Older People and have assessment and treatment knowledge and skills associated with this patient group.

Patients are seen as inpatients, in their own homes, homely setting or as an outpatient. The team focus on inpatient rehabilitation as well as community rehabilitation, preventing unnecessary admission, supporting earliest possible discharge from hospital and enabling patients to remain as independent as possible in their homes.

You will require to have a degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the HCPC. Evidence of continuous professional development appropriate for the banding is essential. Evidence of involvement in audit and service development is required and experience of supervising junior staff for Band 6 level.

There may be occasions where you will be required to work in one of the other community hospital sites. Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities. The ability to travel throughout the area is essential as part of this post is community based. Working hours flexibly over 7 days are part of developments within ICASS. Public Holiday working is in operation (except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day).

Interviews will take place face to face.

For informal enquiries, please contact Jane Baird, Physiotherapy Team Leader - jane.baird@nhs.scot.

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team. For more details on these changes please visit: .
