Job summary
The team at Southend University Hospital are currently looking for an existing Band 6 Physiotherapist looking for a new challenge or an experienced Band 5 physiotherapist ready to take the next step and develop with us into a competent and confident Band 6 within the Inpatient Acute setting.
We are a supportive therapy team looking to recruit a physiotherapist with a broad range of experience in core rotations, to join our team. The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the acute inpatient wards.
This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to engage others, with a proactive approach to service development. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to a person centred approach in line with the Trust Values and Behaviours.
Together with the team leaders in our other in-patient specialities, you will support the Therapies Managers in the strategic and operational planning for the department.
Main duties of the jobThe role offers opportunities to develop clinically and managerially within a friendly and supportive environment. Training and clinical development opportunities are available, with support to attend recognised courses within the area of your rotation to support your development in addition to providing comprehensive in-service training and regular clinical supervision. We will also support the development of your skills in appraisal management and leadership skills with relevant courses.

Our Band 7 Team Leaders are highly experienced in their fields, providing support and training opportunities for personal development.The role includes the supervision of students from University of Essex and University of Hertfordshire and the mentoring of Band 5 Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants. The role also includes on call and weekend working, for which we provide a comprehensive training package.
