Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is hiring a PIP Functional Assessor/Disability Assessor in Scarborough. The role blends home-based work with time at one of our assessment centres in a hybrid arrangement, emphasizing clinical reasoning, analysis and thorough report writing.

The ideal candidate is an NMC/HCPC registered Nurse, Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of UK clinical experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with UK registration (NMC or HCPC).
• Active UK registration with no restrictions is essential.
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident use of digital systems and 35 WPM typing speed.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information
• Produce accurate, detailed and evidence-based written reports
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks
• Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities

• Attend the assessment centre as required

Salary: £39,500 - £41,000 per annum + OTE up to £47150

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Are you an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise?

As a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor at Medacs Healthcare, you'll complete Personal Independence Payment (PIP) functional assessments to understand how health conditions affect everyday life. This is a non‑hands‑on clinical role centred on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing.

The hybrid working model combines home working with time at one of our assessment centres, offering predictable hours, long‑term stability and a healthier work‑life balance.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist

• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions

• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed)

• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)

Desirable

• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles

• Confidence in producing high‑quality written clinical reports
