Job summary

TPP Recruitment is supporting a professional membership organisation to recruit a Manager, Physics Workforce. This role focuses on developing an evidence base for workforce needs, translating data into insights for policy influence, and guiding strategic decisions across the UK and Ireland.

You will lead research, engage senior stakeholders and manage a Project Officer, contributing to workforce development and policy outcomes at a pivotal stage of growth.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the workforce, skills and higher education ecosystem.
• Knowledge of educational pathways, workforce development issues and skills policy.
• Experience using data, research and stakeholder insight to inform decision-making.
• Ability to translate complex data and evidence into compelling stories and recommendations.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building experience.
• Strategic thinking with ability to identify solutions and opportunities.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Genuine interest in workforce development, policy and evidence-led decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead research activity focused on workforce needs, skills shortages and talent development.
• Build and maintain a strong evidence base informing policy, strategy and priorities.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and convert findings into engaging narratives.
• Produce research reports, insights, thought leadership content and briefing materials.
• Support advocacy by providing evidence to influence decision-makers.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders across education, business and policy sectors.
• Identify emerging workforce trends and opportunities; manage a Project Officer.
• Contribute to business planning, project delivery and continuous improvement.
• Support cross-organisational collaboration to maximise impact.
