Job summary

McKinsey & Company’s QuantumBlack Labs in London or Madrid is seeking engineers and scientists to advance a first-of-its-kind physics AI capability. You will lead technical workstreams, build multi-physics simulations and digital twins, and develop ML models to inform strategic recommendations for industrial clients.

Qualifications

• Advanced graduate degree in computational mechanics, materials science, mechanical/aerospace engineering, computational physics, or related field.
• Experience developing engineering or scientific code in Python and/or C++.
• Fluency with statistical sampling, ML, and data science techniques.
• Strong organizational capabilities to initiate and complete tasks independently.
• Ability to make rational decisions based on data and facts.
• Ability to produce work-product outputs (PowerPoint, Excel, reports).
• Excellent time management in a largely autonomous environment.
• Willingness to travel to various environments including manufacturing facilities.
• Strong English communication skills; ability to adapt to different offices/languages.
