Job summary

White House Farm Primary School in Norwich seeks an enthusiastic Physical Activity & Wellbeing Leader (HLTA) to champion sport and physical activity across the school. You will deliver PE across our age ranges, lead active breaks, run after-school clubs, and support swimming provision while promoting inclusive participation.

You will work with a supportive team to extend sporting opportunities, engage reluctant learners and develop PE provision across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with primary-aged children and a good understanding of PE and physical activity are essential.
• Coaching, swimming or First Aid qualifications are desirable, although we are happy to support the right candidate to undertake relevant additional training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging PE across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Lead active breaktimes and lunchtimes.
• Run a varied programme of after-school clubs Monday–Thursday.
• Support or lead our swimming provision.
• Increase participation in competitions, festivals and sporting events; coordinate Sports Day and other whole-school activities; build links with local clubs, schools and sporting organisations.
• Support colleagues in developing PE provision; ensure children of all abilities can participate successfully.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Physical Activity & Wellbeing Leader (HLTA) to become a visible champion for sport and physical activity across our school.

You will:

• Deliver engaging PE across EYFS, KS1 and KS2;
• Lead active breaktimes and lunchtimes;
• Run a varied programme of after-school clubs Monday–Thursday;
• Support or lead our swimming provision;
• Increase participation in competitions, festivals and sporting events; coordinate Sports Day and other whole-school activities; build links with local clubs, schools and sporting organisations;
• Support colleagues in developing PE provision; and ensure that children of all abilities, including those with SEND or who may be less confident, can participate successfully.

We want someone who understands that great school sport is not just about children who already excel. You will actively encourage those who may be reluctant, anxious or less confident and help them discover activities in which they can succeed.
