Job summary

Lendable in London is seeking a Mid level PHP Engineer to join the UK Loans team. You will work on building and integrating APIs to enhance the customer journey and help scale our lending platforms. The role offers ownership, collaboration with a large engineering org, and opportunities to influence architectural decisions.

The team values modern PHP (8+), Symfony, and Behat/PHPUnit testing, with a tech stack including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, and RabbitMQ.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of PHP development experience.
• Proficient with PHP 8.0+ and Symfony.
• Strong ownership and autonomy in delivery.
• Knowledge of Domain Driven Design and event-driven systems.
• Experience with automated testing (Behat, PHPUnit).

We're looking for a Mid level PHP Engineer to join our growing UK Loans team, either based in or around London

Our engineering organisation is home to over 200 talented engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and platform disciplines.

You'll have the opportunity to work on everything from building and integrating new APIs to enhance the customer journey, to optimising our lending platforms, and engaging in deep architectural discussions. There's plenty to tackle, and we're excited to find the right people to take on the challenge.

What we’re looking forEssential

• 3+ years experience with PHP

• Strong, business oriented, engineer with modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ is a must)

• High degree of ownership and autonomy

• A good understanding of Symfony

• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing would be a plus

• Strong automatic testing skills (unit, integration, functional, behat)

Desirable

• Experience working on financial systems

• A keen desire to want to learn and input into a highly collaborative team
