Job summary

Lendable Ltd is seeking a Mid level PHP Engineer to join our UK Loans team in London. You will contribute to building and integrating APIs that enhance the customer journey while helping optimise our lending platform architecture.

You will work with PHP 8.0+, Symfony, and modern tooling, taking ownership from day one in a fast-growing fintech. The role supports hybrid in-office collaboration and a strong emphasis on testing and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with PHP
• PHP 8.0+ experience
• Strong ownership and autonomy
• Good understanding of Symfony
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing
• Strong automatic testing skills (Behat, PHPUnit)

We're looking for a Mid level PHP Engineer to join our growing UK Loans team, either based in or around London

Our engineering organisation is home to over 200 talented engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and platform disciplines.

You'll have the opportunity to work on everything from building and integrating new APIs to enhance the customer journey, to optimising our lending platforms, and engaging in deep architectural discussions. There's plenty to tackle, and we're excited to find the right people to take on the challenge.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Essential

• 3+ years experience with PHP
• Strong, business oriented, engineer with modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ is a must)
• High degree of ownership and autonomy
• A good understanding of Symfony
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing would be a plus
• Strong automatic testing skills (unit, integration, functional, behat)

Desirable

• Experience working on financial systems
• A keen desire to want to learn and input into a highly collaborative team

• Backend: PHP 8, Symfony 7, AWS, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions and ArgoCD (we deploy to production as soon as a feature is complete!)
• Testing: Behat, PHPUnit
