Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional PHP experience.
• Proficiency with PHP 8.0+.
• Strong Symfony framework knowledge.
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message Driven Systems, and Event Sourcing is advantageous.
• Excellent testing skills across unit, integration, functional testing, and Behat.
• Ability to work independently with ownership and autonomy.
• Desirable fintech experience.
• Strong desire to learn and collaborate in a team.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled PHP Engineer to join our expanding UK Loans team, preferably based in or around London. As part of our vibrant engineering organization comprising over 200 engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and platform disciplines, you will play a vital role in enhancing our lending platforms.

Your responsibilities will include developing and integrating APIs to improve the customer journey, optimizing system performance, and participating in architectural discussions to shape the future of our technology stack.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex financial systems, leveraging modern PHP development practices, and contributing to innovative solutions that impact millions of customers. Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience with PHP, demonstrating strong, business-oriented engineering skills.
• Proficiency with modern PHP development, specifically PHP 8.0+.
• Solid understanding of Symfony framework and its ecosystem.
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, and Event Sourcing is advantageous.
• Excellent automatic testing skills, including expertise in unit, integration, functional testing, and Behat.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
• Desirable: prior experience working on financial systems or in a fintech environment.
• Strong desire to learn, collaborate effectively within a team, and contribute to innovative solutions.
