Job summary

Lendable in London is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to drive the next phase of our fintech platform. You’ll work across backend, frontend, mobile and platform teams to build and integrate new APIs that improve the customer journey.

You’ll engage in architectural discussions, shape product direction, and own delivery of high‑impact features. The role offers a hybrid working model and exposure to modern tech such as PHP 8, Symfony, AWS and containerised deployments.

Qualifications

• Strong PHP 8.0+ development experience.
• Familiarity with Symfony or Laravel.
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, CQRS, and Event Sourcing.
• Knowledge of microservices and financial systems advantageous.
• Excellent automated testing skills (unit/integration/functional).
• High ownership and collaborative mindset.

As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll be a key player in our engineering organisation, a vibrant community of talented engineers spanning backend, frontend, mobile, and platform disciplines. Our Modern Tech Stack

• Backend: PHP 8, Symfony, AWS, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions and ArgoCD (we deploy to production as soon as a feature is complete!)
• Testing: Behat, PHPUnit for robust automated testing

What We're Looking For

We're seeking passionate engineers who are excited to contribute and grow with us:

• Strong, business oriented, engineer with modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ is a must). You're fluent in the latest PHP features and best practices.
• A solid grasp of Symfony or Laravel.
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Message-Driven Systems, and Event Sourcing
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and working on financial systems is a bonus.
• Excellent automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional) - you believe in quality code.
• A genuine desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute your ideas within a highly collaborative team.
• High degree of ownership and autonomy
• Experience in a cross-functional environment is a plus, but not essential.
