Job summary

Salience Labs in Oxford is seeking a systems test engineer to define, build and operate the system test capability for photonic switching hardware. You will design test strategies, build measurement setups and automate data capture to speed learning and reliability.

Collaborating with Photonics, Electronics, Firmware and Product teams, you’ll ensure test readiness at milestones and drive disciplined execution with data-driven progress in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on lab experience with optical/mixed signal setups.
• Experience automating test workflows and data capture.
• Fluency in Python (NumPy) and familiarity with VISA/SCPI.

Responsibilities

• Design system-level test strategy for photonic switching platform.
• Build and maintain complex measurement setups with stability and safety.
• Automate test sequences and data pipelines to reduce manual work.
• Communicate test readiness, critical paths and risks with data.
• Collaborate with Photonics, Electronics, Firmware and Product teams.
• Shape and lead the testing function with discipline and reliability.
