Join the Team – First Assistant Wanted

Looking for a reliable and enthusiastic first assistant to join the team at Jonathan Knowles Photography and Film Studio.

If you’re curious about the behind the scenes of complex, high-end advertising photography and want to grow your skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment this could be a great fit for you.

You'll be working closely with Jonathan day to day, both on set and in the studio. From lighting setups to organising files, supporting shoots to maintaining equipment, your role will be varied and engaging. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with exciting tools with the motion control robot and Phantom camera, so if you love the technical side of things, even better!

A bit about Jonathan:

Jonathan is a photographer and filmmaker specialising in Still Life, Liquids and Beauty. Based in a studio in Hammersmith, and collaborates with a small, friendly team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting Jonathan and the wider team on shoots
• Helping with lighting tests and equipment setup
• Keeping the studio clean, organised, and ready to go
• Checking and maintaining kit
• Supporting production across photo and video projects
• Helping plan and prep personal projects

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

• Hands on, practical, and not afraid to get stuck in
• Calm under pressure with a sharp eye for detail
• Confident using Apple computers and the Adobe suite
• Curious about filmmaking / editing and keen to learn more
• Organised, dependable, and good at problem-solving
• A UK driving licence holder (this one’s essential)

This is a full-time, 5-day-a-week role based in Hammersmith. Starting salary will depend on your experience.
