Job summary

Admirals Academy in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing. You will provide targeted literacy and phonics support, particularly for refugee children, SEN, EAL and speech and language needs, to help every child access learning.

Working with the English Lead, you will deliver Little Wandle phonics, monitor progress and contribute to a culture of reading for pleasure through reading fluency programmes and the school library.

Qualifications

• GCSE A-C in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in an education setting.
• Experience with children of relevant age.
• Knowledge of safeguarding regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing to help every child thrive.
• Provide targeted literacy and phonics support, including refugee, SEN and EAL pupils; work with the English Lead on reading interventions.
• Deliver Little Wandle phonics, monitor pupil progress and contribute to a culture that promotes reading for pleasure.
• Support reading fluency programmes and provide access to a well-stocked school library.
• Assist with creating a positive learning environment and support wellbeing of pupils.

Education

English and Maths qualifications to Level 2 (GCSE A-C)
