Job summary

Teach Now is seeking a Year 1 / Year 2 Teaching Assistant to provide phonics support in Barnet (HA8). You will work in a Year 1 or Year 2 classroom, supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally while leading targeted phonics interventions.

The role focuses on small-group phonics delivery, supporting whole-class learning, preparing resources and collaborating with a teaching team. DBS clearance is required for the post.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering phonics interventions in KS1.
• Ability to support both whole-class and small-group work.
• Warm, patient and proactive with young children.

Responsibilities

• Delivering small-group phonics interventions to Year 1/Year 2 pupils.
• Supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally.
• Preparing learning resources and maintaining an engaging classroom.
• Monitoring pupil progress and giving feedback to the class teacher.
• Encouraging independent learning and positive behaviour.
