Job summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens at the hospital and outpatient draw sites, offering administrative support to technical staff per protocol and maintaining service excellence. The role includes registering patients, handling specimens for lab testing, receiving outpatients, and entering data into the laboratory information system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy training course preferred.
• 6 months of specifically related patient care/services experience preferred.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association within 1 month of hire.
• General knowledge in medical information and laboratory safety is desired.
• Ability to effectively communicate patient information to physicians, office staff, and hospital employees.
• Ability to act as a clinical laboratory information resource to all customer groups.
• Ability to accurately transcribe and verbalize patient data.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of basic computer skills.

Pay Range: $18.15 - $26.44
