Grade: NHS AfC: Band 2/3
Contract: Permanent
This position will commence at Band 2, progressing to Band 3 after a minimum period of 6 months and upon successful completion of training and competencies.
Hours: Part time - 19 hours per week (2 posts to be worked over 7 days, 2 weeks of 15 hours, 2 weeks of 23 hours, variable).

Main duties

1. Support the team in multi-departmental service delivery, including blood sampling for various departments.
2. Perform blood sampling via venepuncture or capillary samples.
3. Label blood samples accurately and ensure prompt transport to the laboratory.
4. Maintain safety procedures and adhere to protocols.
5. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with patients and staff.
6. Participate in staff appraisals.

Education/Training/Qualifications

• Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or equivalent
• Qualification in venepuncture

Work Experience

• Experience in a health or social care setting
• Previous venepuncture experience
