Job summary

Randox Health in York is hiring a Phlebotomist to join our clinic inside a Holland & Barrett store. The role involves blood and urine sample collection, data entry into our Patient Information Systems, and professional patient interactions.

Full-time, permanent position with 8:40am–5:20pm hours, alternating Mon-Fri and Tue-Sat; part-time considered. UK right to work required; Hepatitis B vaccination preferred; DBS check; occasional offsite work monthly; visa sponsorship not provided.

Qualifications

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.

Contract Offered

Full-time, permanent. We can also consider part time applicants.

Working Hours / Shifts

8.40am to 5.20pm, alternating weekly between a Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday shift pattern. These shifts are subject to change. We can also consider part time hours.

Right to Work Requirement

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage. In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire.

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Desirable:

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
• Valid UK driving licence.
