Phlebotomist – Hull – (Job Ref: 26/PHLL)

Unit 7, Grand Buildings Jameson Street, Hull, HU1 3JX.

Contract Offered

Full‑time, permanent.

Working Hours / Shifts

8.40 am to 5.20 pm, alternating weekly between a Monday‑to‑Friday and Tuesday‑to‑Saturday shift pattern. These shifts are subject to change.

Vaccination & Health Screening

Because you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to receive it following a successful interview stage. In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Right to Work Requirement

This role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9‑month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

• Ensure customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients.
• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at off‑site events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross‑selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy to manage various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential criteria

• Previous phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident use of IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the business.
• Flexibility to work from off‑site locations at least once per month.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Desirable

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• Two years experience in phlebotomy.
• Sales / retail experience.
• Valid UK driving licence.
