Job description

Job Title: Relief Phlebotomist

The Relief Phlebotomist role involves travelling to stores around the region, up to 60 minutes from the base store. Travel expenses are covered by Boots.

Requirements:

  • Full driving licence and access to a car are necessary due to travel between stores.
  • At least 12 months of practical phlebotomy experience is required for consideration.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this role is £12.36, increasing to up to £13.53 in selected locations within London.

About the Role

As part of our team, you will support Our Future Health, a charity partnered with the NHS, aiming to be the UK’s largest health research programme. We collect data from volunteers across the UK to improve disease prevention, detection, and treatment.

Main Duties:
  • Welcoming participants, verifying details, explaining the phlebotomy procedure, and conducting measurements such as height, weight, and waist circumference.
  • Managing clerical tasks, including appointment scheduling and stock management.
  • Taking and maintaining venous blood samples.
  • Supporting the healthcare counter by advising on healthcare products and services.
  • Opportunity to complete NVQ2 Healthcare training.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Phlebotomist is desirable but full training is provided for applicants without experience.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, independently and in a team.
  • Empathetic, approachable, and sensitive in interactions.
  • Comfortable with technology.
  • Passionate about healthcare and customer care.
  • Flexible to work weekends.
