Job description

You will be responsible for taking blood samples from patients attending various centres, including Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth. There is an expectation that you would also be available to work at other sites, such as wards at Florence Nightingale and Royal Derby Hospital, as required.

We offer both full-time and part-time positions. The centres operate Monday to Sunday, from 7 am to 7 pm. Please specify your preferred hours (full-time or part-time) in your supporting information.

You must be a car user with business insurance. Please ensure your application indicates that you have a full driving license and access to a vehicle.

You will work independently, organizing your daily workload to meet departmental test turnaround standards. You will respond to situations affecting the quality and timeliness of test results and reporting, assist senior staff with audits and data collection, and ensure the cost-effective use of equipment and stock control.

A flexible approach to working hours and excellent communication skills are essential, as this is a fast-paced and demanding role. You should have a caring and empathetic nature, with clear, legible handwriting and basic IT skills. Experience in a care environment or customer service role is preferable.
