Job summary

University of Sunderland is seeking a highly motivated candidate to undertake ARC NENC PhD on creating tailored retinal screening pathways for people with diabetes. This funded studentship includes 100% home tuition fees and a stipend of £21,805 per year, with additional funds to cover research costs of £15,000.

The project will use mixed methods and implementation science in collaboration with NHS partners to co-design tailored screening models and inform policy and practice within the NHS.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in relevant health/social/behavioural science subjects with good academic record.
• Experience with qualitative or mixed-methods research is advantageous.
• Experience in implementation science and working with stakeholders is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mixed-methods research within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Engage patients, carers, healthcare professionals and service leaders across ophthalmology and diabetes services.
• Co-design tailored screening models and translate findings into policy/practice.
