Job summary

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services is essential; progression to Band 3 is available on qualification completion. The role involves regular weekday hours with shift rotation including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions and provide timely medication supplies to inpatients.
• Prioritise urgent discharge prescriptions to help patients go home safely and efficiently.
• Support medicines optimisation by using patients' own medicines.
• Recognise and safely handle controlled drugs brought in by patients.
• Check patients' own medication, ensuring they are stored, labelled, and used correctly.
• Use a range of electronic systems confidently to keep records accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services is essential for this role, candidates without this qualification will be appointed at Band 2 and will progress to Band 3 on completion of the qualification. Previous experience in dispensing is not necessary as full training will be given.
