We are pleased to offer a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced, qualified Pharmacy Technician to work within the Ophthalmology service. You will work with the Senior Specialist Pharmacist for Ophthalmology and support the Medicines Management service to improve medicines optimisation for patients in hospital and the local area. Your responsibilities will include supporting adherence and counseling on eye drops and other medications related to the service, ensuring current medication is prescribed and reviewed, supporting cost savings, and liaising with supply services to ensure continuity of specialist products.
You will also support pharmacy trainees and staff in understanding and optimizing the use of eye drops and eye preparations, enabling them to offer suitable advice and referrals to help patients manage their conditions.

Job Summary: Provide specialist clinical pharmacy technician advice to the Ophthalmology service at UHS.
General Duties:
You need to be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC, with accreditation in Medicines Management or as an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT). Additional training in patient counseling is required. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with weekend working (1 in 6) and one late-night shift per week on alternate weeks.
