Circle Health Group seeks a Pharmacy Technician for Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford. This 22.5-hour per week fixed-term contract supports ward and discharge activities, with emphasis on accurate dispensing and safe medicine use.

Applicants must be GPhC registered, hold NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills, and have hospital pharmacy experience. SACT experience is required and a flexible shift pattern is expected.

Qualifications

• GPhC registration is required and must be current.
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in line with prescriptions and regulations.
• Supply medications to wards, theatres, and outpatient departments.
• Support discharge planning with take-home meds and care continuity.
• Participate in ward-based activities, including stock management and patient counselling (within scope).
• Collaborate with pharmacists and nursing teams to ensure safe medicine use at ward level.
• Identify and help reduce medication waste through stock rotation and clear communication.

Salary: Up to £38,950.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements.
• Supply medications to wards, theatres, and outpatient departments, ensuring safe and timely distribution.
• Support discharge planning by preparing take-home medications and liaising with clinical teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in ward-based activities, including stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and patient counselling (within scope).
• Work closely with pharmacists and nursing teams to support safe and efficient use of medicines at ward level.
• Help identify and reduce medication waste through effective stock rotation and communication with clinical areas.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent qualification).
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Must have SACT experience.
