Job summary

Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support the hospital's pharmacy service on the bank staff. The role offers up to £23 per hour depending on experience and requires registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Responsibilities include monitoring stock, procuring pharmaceutical supplies, receiving goods, dispensing medicines, and supporting Pharmacy staff. The site features modern facilities and a collaborative, professional environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Experience in hospital or community pharmacy.
• SACT Passport beneficial.
• Good IT skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels within the Pharmacy department to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems.
• Receive goods and check against purchase orders/delivery notes, addressing issues as they arise.
• Carry out dispensing of medicines accurately, selecting correct quantities and labelling.
• Provide day-to-day support and guidance to Pharmacy staff as appropriate.
• Coordinate activities to support efficient operation of the pharmacy service.

Pharmacy Technician - Guildford Hospital

Bank: Part Time. Salary: Up to £23 per hour depending on experience.

Working Conditions

Bank - part-time. Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels within the Pharmacy department to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems.
• Receive goods in appropriately checking against purchase orders/delivery notes, dealing with issues/anomalies as they arise and escalating appropriately.
• Carry out dispensing of medicines accurately selecting the correct quantity of medicine required and assembling, labelling and processing them in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
• Provide day to day support and guidance to Pharmacy staff as appropriate.
• Effectively coordinate and undertake activities to support the efficient working of the pharmacy service.

Requirements

• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Experience either within a hospital or community pharmacy.
• SACT Passport beneficial.
