Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join the team at HMP Chelmsford. You will support the delivery of pharmaceutical services in a secure setting, manage medication administration and work as part of the prison healthcare team.

Working pattern: 40 hours per week over four days (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM) with flexible part-time options. The role offers a competitive salary (£32,648–£39,177), a Group Pension, and access to My Reward Hub discounts and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Qualified with an NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent.
• Registered Pharmacist Technician with current GPhC membership.
• Experience in a Prison environment.
• Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• ACT (Accredited Checking Technician) qualification.
• MMT (Medicines Management Technician) qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmacy services in a secure prison environment and support medication administration.
• Deliver a high quality pharmacy service with medicines management.
• Provide pharmacy information to patients, prison officers and healthcare professionals.
• Work autonomously within competencies while supporting less experienced staff.
• Assist with pharmacy support across residential wings and advise on medication use.
• Maintain clear and contemporaneous records (written and electronic).
• Support training and mandatory development; comply with prison security systems.
• Undertake duties as required of a Pharmaceutical Professional at HMP Chelmsford.
